About Me

I am licensed by New York state as a Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT), and am a Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC). I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy from Naropa University. I have been working in the field of counseling & art therapy for more than seven years. I work with all ages and ability levels, from young children with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses to older adults with physical disabilities, aphasia, and dementia. My approach is “client-directed,” encouraging clients to use various media to express creativity, inner thoughts, and conflicts. I believe that, through art, people can overcome their struggles, achieve their highest level of functionality, and reach their full potential. It is amazing to see the transformation that art can bring to people’s lives. Through art we can work through problems in a way that we may not be able to articulate verbally.

I specialize in children, adolescents, adults & families dealing with:

•  PTSD & anxiety disorders
•  Bipolar/mood disorders
•  Asperger’s & Autism Spectrum Disorders
•  Developmental Disabilities
•  AD/HD
•  Aphasia & other rehabilitative issues
•  Family & Parenting issues
